Product details
The usual headache with a Type 1 arrester at the intake is the separate backup fuse: it needs space, a fuse holder and correct selection. DEHNvenCI builds that fuse into the arrester. The DVCI 1 255 FM carries a 25kA lightning impulse current, needs no external mains-side overcurrent protection, and reports its own status through a changeover contact.

Typical applications
This is an origin-of-installation device: main intake positions and incoming panels in buildings with an external lightning protection system, or with an overhead supply, on sites where a direct strike can put partial lightning current into the installation. It suits industrial premises, agricultural buildings, telecoms and broadcast sites, and any switchboard where there is no room for a separate 315A backup fuse arrangement.
Compliance
Tested as a Type 1 / Class I device to EN 61643-11 and IEC 61643-11, with KEMA approval, a UL 94 V-0 enclosure and IP20 protection. Energy coordination is declared with Type 2 equipment and, within 10m, with Type 3 equipment. BS 7671 requires transient overvoltage risk to be assessed, with Type 1 protection used where partial lightning current may enter the installation.
