Three-phase combined protection normally takes eight modules. This compact DEHN arrester does the same two jobs - partial lightning current and surge limitation - across four, which makes Type 1 protection realistic on boards that were never sized for it.

Compliance
Combined Type 1 and Type 2 devices are classified under the BS EN 61643-11 series and are installed at the origin of the installation. BS 7671 requires transient overvoltage risk to be assessed, with Type 1 protection where partial lightning current may enter the installation.
