The Europa Sentinel SLCU6EV40A-SPD is the surge-protected version of the six-module EV charger supply board, adding a Type 2 SPD to the 100A main switch, 40A MCB and Type A RCCB. Surge protection earns its keep on an EV circuit: the charge point connects to a vehicle worth many times the cost of the board, it often sits at the end of a long external cable run, and transient overvoltages travel readily along that route.

Built to BS EN 61439-3, with the fitted devices declared to BS EN 60947-3 (main switch), BS EN 61008-1 (RCCB) and BS EN 60898-1 (MCB). Europa states that the range is designed to meet the requirements of the 18th Edition of BS 7671. The board is rated IP20 and is for indoor installation only, so an outdoor charge point must be fed from a board sited inside the building.
