Typical applications

Compliance
The IP44 rating is defined in BS EN 60529 as protection against solid objects larger than 1 mm and against splashing water from any direction, which covers indoor workshops, plant rooms and sheltered external positions but not wash-down bays or fully exposed sites; specify an IP65 or IP67 socket for those. The outlet follows the IEC 60309 industrial pin-and-sleeve pattern, which fixes pin arrangement, colour and keying by voltage band so that plugs and sockets from different makers interconnect safely. Install and test to BS 7671.
