The Europa STBE220 is a 220 mm earth strap in 4 sq mm conductor, used to bond the door of a steel enclosure back to the body so that every metal part of the assembly is at earth potential.

Typical applications
Every hinged or removable metal part of an enclosure that could become live under fault conditions has to be bonded, and a door carrying isolators, pilot devices, indicators or a small HMI is exactly that. A flexible strap is used rather than a solid conductor because the connection has to survive thousands of door movements without work-hardening and snapping. Fit one strap per door or removable panel, land it on the earth studs at each end, and check the tightness of both ends at commissioning and again at periodic inspection, as Europa asks for all connections in the assembly. Keep a few in the van and in the panel shop: straps are easily lost during a rebuild, and an enclosure should not go back into service without one. This strap is sized for Europa steel enclosures; confirm the length you need against the hinge-to-stud distance on your enclosure.
