Product details
This is the remote-signalling version of DEHN's single-module Type 3 arrester for 25A single-phase circuits. Alongside the local status window it carries a set of monitoring contacts, so a module that has reached the end of its life announces itself to your control system instead of waiting to be found on a visual inspection.
Key features
- Type 3 point-of-use protection in a single DIN module for 25A single-phase circuits
- Monitoring contacts allow end-of-life status to be wired to a BMS, PLC or panel lamp
- Plug-in protection module design keeps replacement clear of the field wiring
- Local status indication remains available for on-site inspection
- Suits unattended and remote sites where nobody checks the board regularly
Typical applications
Remote signalling earns its keep wherever the board is not looked at often: unmanned plant rooms, pumping and treatment stations, telecoms cabinets, roadside and car park equipment, remote CCTV and ANPR posts, and distributed retail estates monitored from one head office. Wiring the contact into an existing alarm input turns surge protection into something you can report on rather than something you hope is still working.
Compliance
Type 3 devices are the fine-protection class within the BS EN 61643-11 series and are installed downstream of, and coordinated with, Type 2 protection. BS 7671 requires transient overvoltage risk to be assessed and protection provided where the consequences justify it.
