Buying guide
MID approval means a meter has been verified under the Measuring Instruments Directive, so its readings can be used to bill the end user. Terasaki's Resilience metering is available in MID and standard versions: incoming meter kits for the 250 A and 400 A boards, outgoing meter kits for 125 A ways, meter mounting kits for the Plus incomer housings, and single-channel DIN-rail or panel-mounted meters for the cableways.
Every kit includes its current transformer and the connections, so it fits the board it is made for without further parts. The Panel Builder adds the right kit to a configured board; the parts are listed here for boards already in service.
Questions
- When do I need a MID approved meter?
- When the reading will be used to charge someone for electricity - a tenant, a concession or a sub-let unit. A standard meter is fine for monitoring and energy management.
- What is in a meter kit?
- The meter, the current transformer sized for the circuit, the connections and the mounting parts for the board or the incomer housing.
- How many outgoing circuits can be metered?
- On Resilience Standard, outgoing meters go in a service centre that holds up to 8. On Resilience Plus they mount in the side cableways, with a cableway metering door kit.
