Product details

Choose the Europa STBPH604020 where a 400 x 600 x 200 mm IP65 steel enclosure sits beneath pipework, gantries or a wash-down line and needs the extra shelter a pent hood provides.

Key features

  • Sloping pent hood sheds water, dust and debris away from the door and seal
  • IP65 to EN 60529, epoxy powder coated steel construction
  • Wall-mounting format for switchgear, control gear and distribution equipment
  • Suited to positions under pipework, gantries and wash-down lines where drips and falling dirt are the problem
  • Not suitable for floor mounting, per Europa's published guidance

Typical applications

Pent hood enclosures earn their place wherever something above the enclosure drips, sheds dust or gets hosed down: food and drink production, bottling and packing halls, water and waste treatment, car washes, workshops under mezzanines and plant rooms with overhead pipework. Inside, they house the same gear as any wall-mounting steel enclosure - isolators and starters, contactor and relay assemblies, control stations, PLC and instrument marshalling, and small sub-distribution. Two limits are worth knowing before you specify: the powder coated finish needs regular upkeep once it is exposed to the weather, and Europa rules the range out where chlorides, sodium or acids are in the air, or in salty coastal conditions. Those jobs belong to the stainless SSTB range. Wall mounting only, too - these are not floor-standing enclosures.

Compliance

IP65 to EN 60529 means the enclosure is dust-tight and protected against low pressure water jets from all directions, with limited ingress permitted under the standard. Any surfaces cut or drilled during installation must be treated to prevent rust, and all swarf and filings removed before the enclosure is put into service.
