Typical applications
Enclosures at this size are the workhorses of plant and building services: motor isolators, contactor and relay assemblies, instrument marshalling and cable termination points. They suit workshops, plant rooms, car parks, treatment kiosks and agricultural buildings, wherever dust, hosing or knocks would soon defeat a plastic box. The square format suits balanced rail width and cable space. Europa does not recommend the STB range outdoors; for exposed or corrosive sites, use the stainless SSTB range.
Compliance
Rated IP66 to EN 60529: no dust ingress, and protection against powerful water jets from any direction. The rating only holds if glands, cut-outs and the door seal are made off correctly, and Europa asks that cut surfaces are treated and swarf removed.
